During my residency in Swansea, I collected images of several old buildings that symbolize the city for me.
One of these buildings is the Palace Theatre, a wedge shaped building that once held the likes of Charlie Chaplin and Sir Anthony Hopkins upon its stage. It showed the first silent movie in Swansea and now sits silent, empty and in a state of urban decay.
On my last day in Swansea I finally had an hour free and a bit of sunshine to photograph the building. I hope that someone will rescue it from its derelict state but the broken windows and crumbling façade do make for some lovely photographic textures.
