Snow Scenes from Cumberland

This is our first year living in Cumberland and (for the east coast of Vancouver Island) it has been an incredibly snowy one. Since the new year we have had several storms roll through and dump the white stuff upon us, leaving the village with a distinctly alpine feel. I am curled up in bed right now, hibernating while the snow comes down and not particularly looking forward to getting to work tomorrow but it has made for some lovely pictures. We certainly won’t forget our first Cumberland winter!

The first round we went for a little midnight stroll

The next morning I took my camera down to the local park to capture all the frozen branches

But it didn’t end there. We had a big freeze and it stuck around for a while. Just as the grass reappeared the next storm came in and gave us this…

and this by morning

and now tonight the view from my door is snow forever!
